Hi, I'm Mel, the owner/editor at Write On Editorial.
I'll help you submit or publish your best work by being the fresh set of eyes you need on your manuscript. From the big picture issues of developmental editing to the small details of proofreading, I'll help your book shine.
I'm careful to retain your authentic author voice when editing and I can advise you on how to keep readers engaged in your story.
Best of all, there is no need to take out a bank loan to afford any of my editing services.
I edit British and American English, and all genres. I'm a life long reader, avid bookstagrammer, and I keep abreast of the current trends in publishing.
I have a bachelor's degree from Deakin University and have completed an editing course from the Centre For Continuing Education, Sydney University.

Developmental Editing
This is where I look at the big picture points of your story, such as plot, pacing, characterisation and consistency.
You receive in work comments, as well as a detailed feedback report listing the pros and cons of your story from an editing and reading perspective.

Copy And Line Edit Combo
This is a new package to Write On Editorial, where I combine a copy and line edit in the same pass.
I make corrections in spelling, punctuation and grammar. I look for plot holes, repetition of words and awkward phrasing. I verify basic facts and look out for inconsistencies in text font and errors in basic formatting.
I also look at characterisation, structure and continuity.

Proofreading
This is the final pass of your manuscript before publishing or submitting, where I check for any errors which have made it through previous edits.
I'm mainly looking at spelling, grammar and punction but will also flag formatting, font and descriptive errors.
